Infinite Minds Learnership in Interactive Media

What is it?

A Learnership is a structured qualification where you can learn and work at the same time. This is MICT Seta Sponsored Course that leads to a National Certificate in Interactive media (Post Grade 12 level). This learnership also includes a certificate in End User Computing where learners will learn how to use MS Office Programs up to an advanced level and operate effectively within a working environment.

Who qualifies?

Grade 12 with Maths as a subject (Not Math Lit). If you have Grade 12 but only Math Literacy, you may still apply if you provide a special motivation. Prior computer knowledge or own computer are not required.

Preference will be given to learners from Theewaterskloof Municipal area or Boland and Overberg area.  Applicants must have their own accommodation.


The training is taking place in Villiersdorp which is about 100km from Cape Town. We provide all the computers and manuals.

Why this course?

The skills learned at this course has been specifically identified by the IT/Film Industry as being a scarce skill. This will ensure that the skills you learn are needed for the industry. This is also an excellent course if you would prefer to create your own business – we will also help you with this – where you can serve the local community or the international community earning in Dollars.

What type of positions can I apply for after successfulcompletion: Qualified learners could thus fulfill the following job roles: computer operators, electronic originators of materials ready for the web, sales people in web/multi-media/events/television/motion graphics/media industry, web or print designers. Qualified learners will be competent to create computer-based, electronic/digital visual communication using digital technology, which, in turn may be used in web publishing, education, entertainment, marketing, presentations, news (including 2D animation)

Learners will enjoy various advantages as a result of due to the qualification, for example; global applicability of the competencies, employment in an international industry enjoying substantial growth, benchmarked qualification, a creative career, improved communication.

What if you want to study further?

This course is accredited and is offering in the education sector for over R30 000 with the learner providing computer. Because of the cost and scarcity of the skills the Seta is sponsoring this. If you want to study further in this field you will receive recognition for this certificate.

Is there a stipend.

As soon as you are placed with an employer (about 4 months after starting the course) you will receive a stipend to the value of R1500 per month. This is for any cost that might incur to get to your employer.
